Last week I taught a seminar at the Florida Professional Photographers convention, and it was a great experience for me. I had the chance to learn from some great children, portrait and travel photographers, work I don’t do much of. Kevin Newsome gave a great presentation on children photography and Pepito Valdes talked about the business side of his wall portrait studio. Jack Reznicki had an early morning class where at the end of the class he showed some of his personal work that just blew me away.
At the expo hall I found my next piece of equipment I just have to have, the Canon 17mm tilt-shift lens. I played around with it on a 5d Mark II and at different angles and was impressed with how little lens distortion there was in a super wide-angle lens. I have had the need for that wide of an angel twice the last month or so.

Randy is an architectural and fine art photographer, located in Florida. He is an instructor of photography, Photoshop and Lightroom at the Morean Art Center. Randy has lectured at the state Florida Professional Photographer convention, as well as around the state.
