I just came back from PhotoshopWorld in Las Vegas, and boy was it great. I saw a lot of my old friends and more importantly saw new work by them. There was a lot of new classes and I learned some new tricks that I plan to implement right away. One that you will see soon is a plug-in for this blog that will allow you to see images in a better way. I had the pleasure of doing some of the portfolio reviews and saw some great new talent, one person in particular stood out, he was doing some amazing HDR work in Washington DC that I was very impressed with.
I also had the opportunity to work on one of the precon classes in HDR with Matt Kloskowski and RC Concepion and I led a third of the class out shooting at Mandalay Bay, then worked on images in class with the students. I can’t tell you how it feels when one of the students stops you the next day and tells you that you caused him to lose three hours of sleep, because he finally got it and worked all night on photographs. Those are some of the memories I will take away from PhotoshopWorld this time.
More to come on some of the new gear I saw at the Tech Expo, and I will be showing some images from Zion National Park and Snow Canyon (a great find that few people know about, but has some neat photographic opportunities.
Here is a panoramic from 4 shots by my iphone of the conference wrap-up.
